About SHINE Project

SHINE is a four-year project funded by Siemens that aims to initiate collective action among ethical foreign and local business enterprises that wish to see the creation of fair market conditions for all market participants. Started in December 2010, the project’s ultimate objective is a certification and accreditation system, like the ISO, that will provide competitive advantages to compliant companies. Companies will be audited, accredited, and certified based on compliance to ethical ways of doing business and strict integrity standards.

SHINE is being implemented in the Philippines by the Makati Business Club and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. Competing with hundreds of project proposals from different parts of the world, SHINE was the only project chosen by Siemens from the Philippines. Siemens is supporting other initiatives in the following countries: Angola, Brazil, China, Egypt, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, the Slovak Republic, South Africa, the Czech Republic, the U.S., Vietnam and various Middle Eastern states.
